If you're one of those people who wants to help with Views, but you have no idea what to do, and your helping is going to require me to spend more time explaining the architecture to you than I would spend actually getting work done, your help is not valuable to me.

Sorry if this comes off as mean, but right now I'm a giant freakin' obstacle and I'm getting a little tired of having it pointed out to me twice daily, with a whole bunch of people offering to help, but few apparently willing to do things the Drupal Way and just read the damn code, figure out what needs to be done and do it.

In Drupal core, there isn't anyone telling you what you can do to help. Views isn't any different, at this time.

Not mean at all. I'm guilty

Not mean at all. I'm guilty of posting on one of those threads then not doing much afterwards, since I realised I don't have much to offer until there's more ui stuff to test and end-user documentation to be written, but I still got irritated by some of the responses, especially since a few of those posts looked like people spamming the drupal.org front page with their contact details for web development with no intention of actually helping. Not nice.

Amen

Thats what I was trying to say in that thread. Another way to help is to donate to the Drupal association. We will likely be funding Views2 as part of the project module port.

Re assocation donations, did

Re assocation donations, did anyone ever hear back from this guy?

Now you have.

Hello,

I kept checking for awhile, to see if there was a specific response to my offer, but did not see it. I must have missed the 28th response about video tutorials.

I'll comment on the Drupal site as well, but here is an initial response:

1. Someone coordinating this can tell me where to donate and I will. I can go to the Drupal Association site, no problem.
2. I'll go ahead and start producing some tutorials. If there is any direction someone would like to give, that's fine. Or I'll just start based on what I know. I'll coordinate through the Drupal groups.

Best Regards,
Sean

No worries...

Chill dude, there's a lot of people out here waiting very patiently and gratefully for all the good work you do, and they're doing what other little bits and pieces they can. Take heart from that :)

Understandable

I see your point of view. It's irritating trying to make headway on a project when people don't seem to want to go about things in the requested way.
