Paneldemic

Paneldemic ...distributed everywhere.

Call them Regions.

Regions and Views sound perfect to me. Don't worry about the naming conflict, just tweak around it if you need to in the code.

I am not impressed with the word Panels. It sounds like overhead to me. It sounds like a thing. Regions sounds like a concept, like Taxonomy, Search, Content...

Thanks for your code. I appreciate it.

FYI: I think you've got the perms turned off for poll.module for authenticated users.

Really looking forward to using Panels everywhere.

Thanks for the great work.

Argh! I forgot to enable voting for non-admin users. Voting is now enabled.

The name "Panels" isn't really up for discussion, there's only so many times I can change names. The module is Panels.

The distribution is Drupal + Panels + Views + CCK + Panels Everywhere. Really at this point only the names I have in the poll are up for discussion.

that's available, right?

panacea
–noun
1. a remedy for all disease or ills; cure-all.
2. an answer or solution for all problems or difficulties: His economic philosophy is a good one, but he tries to use it as a panacea.
Use panacea in a Sentence

Origin:
1540–50; < L < Gk panákeia, equiv. to panake-, s. of panaks all-healing (pan- pan- + aks a cure) + -ia -ia

Related forms:

–noun
an ancient Greek goddess of healing.

Panacea!
We have a winner!

I think "Panopoly" was one of my original suggestions, but "Panacea" is actually more clever. I cast my write-in ballot for this!

Drupal?

(though Panacea's not bad)

I rather liked my suggestion of Bento. All those little bento boxes just remind me of panels.

A simple bug significant improvement.

I admit I picked names that will make it not too much of a mental leap, when seeing the name without much context, to figure out that it's a Panels-based Drupal. So while names like Bento and Shoji are pretty nifty, I'm avoiding them for not having enough information contained in the word.

this makes sense. there are many clever names out there, but the most functional (though not the prettiest) seems to be DruPanels.
Anyone who reads that will get it.
+1

In that case I would go for Drupanels.

"Panacea" sounds pretty impressive, but could it be just a wee bit too ambitious for what this project entails? On the other hand, Panels and its derivatives do help their users to provide "wide-ranging and impressive ... display[s]".
The other meanings of the word are at least somewhat applicable if you consider their role to be to provide Drupal's clothing.

pan⋅o⋅ply
 [pan-uh-plee] Show IPA

4. full ceremonial attire or paraphernalia; special dress and equipment.
